Enzonic Databases

Free PostgreSQL hosting

Managed PostgreSQL 17 with pgvector, PostGIS, branches and backups. Free plan, no card.

Overview

Create a PostgreSQL 17 database in a few seconds and connect with any Postgres driver over TLS. Free databases scale to zero when idle and wake on the next connection; paid plans keep them always on and add point-in-time recovery.

  • PostgreSQL 17 with the pgvector and PostGIS extensions available
  • Branch a database like code: a copy for every feature or preview
  • Daily backups, and point-in-time recovery on paid plans
  • Pooled connections and TLS on every connection
  • A SQL editor and table browser in the console
  • Connect it to an Enzonic Deploy project and DATABASE_URL (pooled) and DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED (direct) are set for you

Good for

  • Web and mobile app backends
  • Embeddings and vector search with pgvector
  • Maps and geospatial queries with PostGIS
  • Prisma, Drizzle, SQLAlchemy and Django projects

Connect from your code

The console shows the full connection string with your password. Every connection uses TLS.

Node.js (pg)
import pg from 'pg';
const pool = new pg.Pool({ connectionString: process.env.DATABASE_URL });
const { rows } = await pool.query('select now()');
Python (psycopg)
import os, psycopg
with psycopg.connect(os.environ['DATABASE_URL']) as conn:
    print(conn.execute('select now()').fetchone())
Prisma
datasource db {
  provider  = "postgresql"
  url       = env("DATABASE_URL")          // pooled
  directUrl = env("DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED") // migrations
}
Go (pgx)
db, err := sql.Open("pgx", os.Getenv("DATABASE_URL"))

Deploy guides with a PostgreSQL example: Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, Remix

Questions

Is the free PostgreSQL database really free?

Yes. The Free plan includes PostgreSQL with no card and no trial period. The limits are in the table on this page; free databases sleep after a few idle minutes and wake on the next connection.

Can I use pgvector?

Yes. Run create extension vector; in your database and store embeddings next to the rest of your data. PostGIS is available the same way.

How do I move an existing Postgres database?

Dump it with pg_dump and restore it with pg_restore or psql using the connection string from the console. Both tools work over the normal TLS connection.
